Lazio Eye Free-Agent Moves for Mauro Icardi and Yves Bissouma

Lazio are exploring the free-agent market after the summer transfer window closed, with Mauro Icardi and Yves Bissouma emerging as two notable names on their radar. The Serie A club still have two spaces available in their squad after Patric and Luca Pellegrini were left out of the registration list. This has given Lazio room to consider experienced players who could strengthen the squad without requiring a transfer fee.

Icardi appears to be an option that has caught the attention of Lazio president Claudio Lotito. The Argentine striker is currently without a club following his departure from Galatasaray and could provide additional firepower up front. His previous experience in Serie A, particularly during his time with Inter, makes him a familiar figure in Italian football and an attractive possibility for the Biancocelesti.

However, Icardi does not appear to be the preferred solution for head coach Gennaro Gattuso. The manager reportedly wants a more mobile central striker who can fit better into his tactical approach, which was one of the reasons Lazio brought in Andrea Pinamonti late in the summer window. Gattuso's immediate priority is understood to be getting Pinamonti fully fit and ready to become a key option in attack.

Bissouma is another experienced player being considered as Lazio assess their midfield options. The former Brighton and Tottenham midfielder could provide additional depth in the middle of the pitch, particularly after a number of injuries have affected the squad. His physical presence and Premier League experience could make him a useful addition if Lazio decide they need reinforcements during the season.

Despite having room in the squad, Lazio are not rushing into a decision.
