Indonesia Lead FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Market Values as Hosts Top the Rankings
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 will bring together several teams from Southeast Asia and South Asia, with Indonesia entering the tournament as both host and the squad with the highest market value. According to Transfermarkt data, the Indonesian team is valued at Rp377.79 billion, placing them comfortably ahead of the other participants.
Indonesia are drawn in Group A alongside Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Singapore, with all of their group-stage matches scheduled to take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. Malaysia rank second in squad valuation at Rp120.37 billion, followed by Bangladesh at Rp115.15 billion, while Singapore sit at the bottom with a market value of Rp59.10 billion.
The gap is particularly noticeable when individual players are considered. Indonesia defender Kevin Diks is valued at Rp86.91 billion, making him the most valuable player at the tournament and placing his individual valuation above the entire Singapore squad. Bangladesh midfielder Hamza Choudhury ranks second among the tournament's most valuable players with a valuation of Rp69.53 billion.
Group B is led by Thailand, whose squad is valued at Rp159.09 billion. Vietnam follow with Rp111.24 billion, while Pakistan and the Philippines are valued at Rp76.04 billion and Rp68.22 billion respectively. These figures put Thailand second overall behind Indonesia, although market valuations alone do not necessarily reflect how teams will perform once the competition begins.
Despite Indonesia's significant advantage on paper, the tournament is expected to demand full concentration from the hosts. Goalkeeper Maarten Paes has stressed the importance of maintaining focus against every opponent, with strong fan support also expected to play a major role as Indonesia attempt to make the most of their home advantage.
