Moussa Diaby to Join Al-Ittihad from Aston Villa in €60 Million Deal

Aston Villa's record signing, Moussa Diaby, is set to transfer to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad in a deal valued at approximately €60 million (£50.6 million; $65.3 million). Diaby, who joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen last summer for around €40 million plus add-ons, has agreed to personal terms and a long-term contract with the Saudi club.
Having made 54 appearances across all competitions last season and contributed 10 goals and nine assists, Diaby played a crucial role in Villa's qualification for the Champions League for the first time in 41 years. Al-Ittihad, now under the management of former Inter Milan coach Stefano Pioli, continues to bolster their squad with high-profile signings, including Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Fabinho.
As Villa prepares for the upcoming season, they have also been active in the transfer market, bringing in new talents like Ian Maatsen and Samuel Iling-Junior, while seeing departures such as Douglas Luiz and Philippe Coutinho on loan to Vasco da Gama.
This move to Al-Ittihad marks a significant chapter for Diaby, who was previously linked to the Saudi Pro League, reflecting the league's growing influence and investment in overseas talent.
