Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp, is working closely with sporting director Richard Hughes as Liverpool prepares for their opening game of the U.S. tour against Real Betis in Pittsburgh. Slot mentioned that the absence of many first-team players due to Euro 2024 and Copa America has given younger players a chance to shine in pre-season.

Andy Robertson, recovering from an ankle injury, has traveled with the team but is not expected to participate in any of the three games.
