Liverpool shows strong interest in Alvaro Fernandez and the player's release clause set at €50 million

According to Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, Liverpool is interested in former Manchester United player Alvaro Fernandez, who currently plays as a left-back for Benfica.
The 21-year-old Alvaro Fernandez came through Real Madrid’s youth academy and later played for Manchester United. In January this year, he joined Benfica on loan, and six months later, Benfica completed his permanent transfer for €6 million. So far this season, he has made nine appearances for Benfica, starting seven times.
Recently, Fernandez has been linked with top clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus, with some reports suggesting that Manchester United is considering activating the buy-back clause for the Spanish U21 international. Now, according to O Jogo, Liverpool has also shown strong interest in Álvaro Fernández, whose current release clause with Benfica is €50 million (approximately £42 million).
