AFC's Decision Boosts Indonesia's Chances Ahead of China Clash

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has made a favorable ruling for Indonesia's national team as they prepare for the crucial 2026 World Cup Qualifier match against China.
Despite receiving a yellow card in the match against Bahrain on October 10, 2024, key midfielder Marcelino Ferdinan will be available for the upcoming game. His yellow card initially raised concerns that he might be suspended for the next match, but after a review, the AFC determined that he had not accumulated enough yellow cards to warrant a ban.
This decision brings relief to Indonesia, as they rely heavily on Marcelino's talents. He plays a pivotal role in midfield, offering both stability and creativity to orchestrate their attacks. His consistent performances are vital for the team, especially against a strong opponent like China.
The Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup are highly competitive, with teams like Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and China in Group C. Every match counts in the race for the next round.
Currently, Indonesia is in third place with 6 points, tied with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and China. While the AFC's decision is a boost, the team must remain cautious, as China, despite their low position, is highly motivated to bounce back after consecutive losses to Saudi Arabia and Australia. They will be fighting hard for a victory against Indonesia.
