Emil Audero, Calvin Verdonk, and Mees Hilgers May Join Indonesia National Team's Training Camp Late

Several players, including Emil Audero, Calvin Verdonk, and Mees Hilgers, may miss the initial days of Indonesia's national team training camp ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifiers in June. The Garuda team, led by Patrick Kluivert, will gather in Bali on May 26, 2025, to prepare for their upcoming matches against China and Japan. However, due to their commitments with their respective clubs, these foreign-based players might not arrive in time for the camp’s start.

Audero, who is expected to make his debut for Indonesia in the match against China, faces a tight schedule as he plays for Palermo in the Serie B promotion playoffs. If Palermo advances to the final, he will be occupied with matches until June 2, just days before the game against China, leaving him with limited time for preparation. Similarly, Mees Hilgers and Calvin Verdonk, who play for FC Twente and NEC Nijmegen respectively, are involved in the Europa Conference League playoffs, which could delay their arrival as these playoffs run until May 25.

The situation could cause a delay in their integration with the national team, potentially affecting their readiness for the June matches. If both players progress to the final of the Europa Conference League, they may not arrive until May 27 or 28, leaving little time to prepare before the training camp officially begins. This creates uncertainty around their participation in the upcoming crucial fixtures for Indonesia.
