Malut United Joins Elite Group with Two Hat-trick Scorers in Liga 1

Malut United has become one of only two teams in Liga 1 2024-25 to boast two players who have scored hat-tricks in a single season. Yance Sayuri followed in his twin brother Yakob Sayuri's footsteps by completing his first career hat-trick in the team's dominant 5-1 victory over PSIS Semarang on May 16, 2025, at Gelora Kie Raha Stadium in Ternate. The other goals came from Chechu Meneses and Diego Martinez, making it a memorable match for Malut United fans.

With this achievement, Yance joins Yakob, who had already scored a hat-trick in a 3-1 win over Persis earlier in April. This rare feat places Malut United in an exclusive club, alongside Dewa United, which also has two hat-trick scorers this season. Dewa United’s hat-trick heroes include Egy Maulana Vikri and Alex Martins, who have both made their mark with impressive performances throughout the campaign.

The match against PSIS Semarang not only highlighted Yance's remarkable achievement but also marked Malut United's biggest win of the season. Despite the dominant scoreline, head coach Imran Nahumarury made it clear that the victory was not as easy as the score suggested, emphasizing the challenges his team faced during the game.
