Real Madrid Eyes Return of Rising Midfield Talent Nico Paz
Real Madrid is preparing its next move in the transfer market, shifting focus from defensive reinforcements to strengthening the midfield. One of the first names on their radar is Nico Paz, a 20-year-old midfielder currently playing for Como in Italy. Paz, a product of Real Madrid's youth system, was sold to Como last summer for €6 million, but the club wisely retained 50% of his rights along with a buy-back clause.
The clause allows Real Madrid to re-sign Paz for just €8 million this summer, with alternative options to bring him back in 2026 for €9 million or 2027 for €10 million. Given his impressive performances in Serie A, the club is inclined to act now rather than wait. His eight appearances with Real Madrid’s first team during the 2023-24 season also showed he has the potential to contribute at the top level.
