Persis Solo Signs Japanese Striker Kodai Tanaka to Replace Ramadhan Sananta

Persis Solo has officially signed Japanese forward Kodai Tanaka as their new attacking option ahead of the 2025-26 season. His arrival is seen as a direct replacement for Indonesian striker Ramadhan Sananta, who recently transferred to Malaysian Super League side DPMM FC of Brunei. The club announced the move on July 4, 2025.
Kodai Tanaka brings a proven goal-scoring record from the Singapore Premier League, where he netted 24 goals and contributed 15 assists during the 2024–25 campaign with BalestierKhalsa. He also impressed in the Singapore Cup with six goals in just four appearances, making him a valuable asset for Persis Solo's frontline.
A key reason behind Tanaka’s decision to join Persis Solo was his previous working relationship with the club’s new head coach, Peter de Roo, during their time together in Singapore. The familiarity with the coach’s playing philosophy was a strong motivating factor for the striker, who expressed full confidence in their renewed partnership.
Tanaka is Persis Solo's first foreign signing for the upcoming season, joining four new local players as part of the team's roster overhaul. The club, known as LaskarSambernyawa, aims to build a stronger and more competitive squad to improve their performance in the domestic league.
