Persebaya Signs Mihailo Perovic to Replace Flavio Silva in 2025-26 Campaign

Persebaya Surabaya has chosen Mihailo Perovic as their new main striker for the 2025-26 season, replacing Flavio Silva who recently moved to Kaizer Chiefs. With limited options up front following Silva's departure, Perovic's arrival is expected to strengthen the attacking line, joining Rizky Dwi Pangestu as the club’s central offensive option.

Perovic, a 28-year-old Montenegrin forward, brings solid experience from European leagues, having played for clubs in Ukraine, Macedonia, and most recently FK Jezero, where he scored 16 goals last season. His past includes appearances in the UEFA Europa League, where he faced clubs like Leicester City and SC Braga. His sharp instincts inside the box make him a classic number nine, offering a different style compared to the pacey and skillful Flavio Silva.

This transfer continues Persebaya's pattern of recruiting players from the Balkan region, aiming to build on the chemistry formed by names like Dejan Tumbas and Dime Dimov. With Perovic's addition, coach Eduardo Perez hopes to find a better tactical fit and a more consistent goal-scoring threat in the final third.

While Perovic may not match Silva's speed or versatility, his physical presence and clinical finishing are expected to add a new dimension to the team’s attack. The club hopes his arrival will help boost overall performance and provide the firepower needed to compete at a higher level this season.
