Official: PSG Midfielder Désiré Doué Suffers Grade 3 Thigh Muscle Tear, Potential January Return

Paris Saint-Germain has provided an update on the injury sustained by midfielder Désiré Doué, confirming the 20-year-old is facing a significant spell on the sidelines.
Doué, who left the pitch in tears during the match against Lorient (1-1 draw) last Wednesday due to a right thigh injury, has reportedly been diagnosed with a Grade 3 tear of the muscle (on a 0 to 4 scale). The serious nature of the injury means his initial prognosis is being treated with caution.
While the club’s official statement only vaguely referred to the issue as a “lesion” that would keep the four-time French international out for “several weeks,” internal reports suggest a longer absence.
The timeline for his return remains variable, though optimistic projections of a return before the end of the year are being met with skepticism. Most sources within the club indicate that the midfielder is more likely to make his comeback in early to mid-January 2026.
Despite the setback, Doué has reportedly started his recovery with a positive attitude, having already shed his crutches. He was even spotted in good spirits watching the final of the Rolex Paris Masters tennis tournament.
