Kompany Downplays Bayern's 16-Game Winning Streak: 'Don't Believe the Hype'

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany maintained a characteristically grounded perspective after his team secured a club-record 16th consecutive win across all competitions, cautioning against excessive confidence in their pursuit of the Champions League title.

When asked about his confidence in winning the Champions League, Kompany emphasized the need for a balanced mindset. He revealed the consistent message he delivers to his players, stating: "I always tell the players: 'When the outside world is hyping you up, please don’t believe it, you are not that great; and when you lose or perform poorly, don’t think you are that bad, you are not that terrible.'"

Kompany stressed that the current winning streak, though historic, means nothing for future matches. "I always keep that in mind. Now we have won 16 games. But from tomorrow on, everything goes back to zero, and we have to win the next match," he asserted.

The manager’s firm stance indicates his focus remains strictly on the next challenge, preventing the players from becoming complacent despite their unparalleled start to the season.
