Nico Paz Commits to Another Season at Como as Real Madrid Secures Buyback Option
Nico Paz will remain with Como for the 2026–27 Serie A season after an agreement between the club and Real Madrid. While the talented midfielder will continue his development in Italy, the Spanish giants have retained the right to bring him back through a buyback clause that becomes active in the summer of 2027.
Under the new arrangement, Como will acquire the remaining 50 percent of Paz's registration in a deal worth €60 million, bringing his overall transfer valuation to €120 million. Real Madrid can re-sign the player in 2027 by activating an €80 million buyback option.
Since arriving from Real Madrid's academy in 2024 for an initial fee of €6 million, Paz has enjoyed rapid progress under head coach Cesc Fabregas. He has become one of Como's standout performers, delivering influential displays and scoring important goals in key Serie A matches, including a memorable victory over Juventus.
The decision to stay in Italy was driven by Paz's belief that another season at Como offers the best environment for his continued development. He sees the upcoming campaign as a valuable opportunity to gain more experience and further establish himself at the highest level.
Paz also expressed his excitement about returning to Como and playing in front of the club's supporters once again. His continued presence gives the Serie A side another season with one of its brightest young talents, while Real Madrid keeps the door open for a potential reunion in the future.
