Keito Nakamura Emerges as Premier League Target After Impressive World Cup Performances
Keito Nakamura has attracted strong interest from the Premier League following an outstanding 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with Japan. Everton, Bournemouth, and Fulham are all reportedly monitoring the versatile winger as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
The 26-year-old is currently under contract with Stade Reims, but an agreement in his deal allows him to leave for a reported fee of around £21.5 million after the French club failed to secure promotion to Ligue 1. The relatively affordable transfer value has made him an appealing target for several clubs across Europe.
Everton and Bournemouth have already made initial inquiries with Nakamura's representatives regarding a potential move. However, both clubs are expected to offload attacking players before making a formal offer, while Fulham also remain interested as they prepare for a new era under a potential managerial appointment.
Despite playing in France's second division last season, Nakamura delivered outstanding performances by finishing as Stade Reims' top scorer with 14 goals. His form had already drawn attention from clubs such as Villarreal and Beşiktaş before his reputation grew even further on the international stage.
Nakamura became Japan's first-choice left winger at the World Cup after Kaoru Mitoma was sidelined through injury. He contributed one goal and one assist during the group stage while earning a place in Opta's Team of the Group Stage. Japan also impressed in the knockout rounds, pushing Brazil until a late winning goal ended their memorable tournament run.
