Besiktas Push for Lukaku but Fall Short of Napoli's Asking Price

Besiktas have identified Romelu Lukaku as a key transfer target, but negotiations with Napoli have hit an early obstacle because of a significant gap in valuation. The Turkish club is reportedly unwilling to meet the Italian side's asking price for the experienced striker.

Lukaku is expected to leave Napoli after falling out of favor under new head coach Max Allegri. His relationship with the club reportedly deteriorated after returning to Belgium for treatment ahead of the World Cup, a decision that disappointed the club's management.

With only one year remaining on his contract, Napoli are open to selling the Belgian international this summer. Besiktas have already begun discussions with both the Italian club and the player's representatives as they explore the possibility of completing the transfer.

Before making a final decision, Besiktas want to review Lukaku's latest medical reports from both Napoli and the Belgium national team. The club is carefully assessing his fitness after he struggled with injuries during the previous campaign.

Despite those setbacks, Lukaku still produced an impressive return of 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances last season. Even so, Napoli are seeking around €10 million for the transfer, while Besiktas are currently prepared to offer only half that amount.
